The launch of localised sites www.youtube.com.au & www.youtube.co.nz saw Xphyr create a leaving, breathing over-sized version of the youtube home pages. Standing 6 metres tall and 10metres wide the set featured scrolling YouTube videos. The launch saw media and hundreds of YouTube users experience YouTube videos, along with an exceptional performance by Ricki-Lee Coulter and’ free hugs’, distributed courtesy of Juann Mann, Australia’s most famous YouTuber.
Representatives from many of Australia’s and New Zealand’s top YouTube channels were featured and the launch provided much discussion with bloggers on the newly launched sites. Quickly followed by the launch of www.youtube.co.nz featuring some of New Zealand’s prominent YouTubers the events were seen as an international success.
